Radon & IAQ Concerns

What is Radon? Radon is an invisible, odorless gas that is a  natural radioactive decay product of uranium, a common element in soil  and rocks. Radon gas is considered harmless when dispersed in outdoor  air but can be a serious health hazard when trapped in buildings. How  Does Radon Get in Homes? Radon gas can seep into a home from the soil  through dirt crawlspaces, cracks in the foundation and walls, floor  drains, pipes and sump pumps. Radon can enter any home, old or new, even  those with no visible cracks. Each building is unique, and the ground  beneath it is also unique. Two houses side-by-side can have totally  different radon levels. The only way to know what the radon levels are  inside your home is to measure them. At VIP Inspections we use high  quality reliable electronic radon test equipment that is calibrated  annually.

IAQ Testing:

Home Air Testing- Sometimes it's what you don't know that can hurt you. Make sure the air in your home is safe  to breathe. An IAQ Home Survey professional test measures and reports  on the air in the home for chemicals and hidden mold that could be  detrimental to your health or that could cost you thousands of dollars  to remediate if left undetected. Performed by a residential service  professional, an IAQ Home Survey test is the only composite home air  quality assessment available today. It monitors for hundreds of  chemicals in the air (called VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds) and  active mold growth with a single air sample. It not only reports on the  total levels of VOCs and mold present in the home, but it also  identifies the potential sources of air pollutants (e.g., paint,  adhesives, flooring, cabinets, heating fuel, dead animals and hundreds  of other products and materials that emit gases into the air) giving you  actionable information on the steps necessary to improve the air  quality in your home. In addition, testing for Formaldehyde and Tobacco  Smoke can be done at the same time as the IAQ Home Survey test (extra  charges apply). Total Peace of Mind For total peace of mind that you  have a healthy home for you and your family to enjoy, have an IAQ Home  Survey test run. Its easy to understand results drive actions you can  take to insure a healthy air environment for you and your family
